Ashleigh is a Consultant Rheumatologist and Senior Lecturer at the University of Queensland. She has been practising as a consultant rheumatologist since 2017. She completed a Bachelor of Science in 2005, followed by a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at the University of Queensland in 2009. After completing her internship at the Princess Alexandra Hospital, she began physician training at The Royal Hobart Hospital before joining the Queensland Rheumatology training program.
During her final year of training, Ashleigh completed a clinical fellowship at University College London Hospital under the supervision of Professor David Isenberg, a world leader in Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE), in 2016/17. She has a particular clinical interest in SLE, while also caring for patients with a wide range of rheumatic conditions.
In addition to her work at Redcliffe and Northside Rheumatology, Ashleigh also consults at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital. She is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Queensland, where she is actively involved in teaching undergraduate medical students, junior doctors, and physician trainees. She has been an examiner for the RACP since 2019. Ashleigh is also an active member of the Australian Rheumatology Association and served as Director of Clinical Training (Queensland) from 2017 to 2020, and Registrar Recruitment Coordinator (Queensland) in 2022 and 2023.
