Dr. Yumi Oh is a Consultant Rheumatologist who is passionate about providing an individualised patient-centred care in medicine, respecting patients’ autonomy and informed decision in dealing with their chronic diseases we see in Rheumatology. She also works at Redcliffe Hospital as a Senior Medical Officer.
To best guide her patients in the most modern and sophisticated therapeutic approach, Yumi remains active in professional development, and successfully completed Master of Sports Medicine at the University of Queensland, where she previously obtained her dual degree in Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery.
Dr. Yumi has a unique and international upbringing being born in Japan and spent her adolescent years in Shanghai, China, before arriving in Brisbane to pursue her tertiary education in Medicine. She has high cultural awareness and passionate about listening to her patient’s values and beliefs to create flexible and tailored patient care.
Dr. Yumi is proud of her unusually neat and legible handwritings (for doctors), and she is happy to talk to you about her pen collections if time allows. She also enjoys tormenting her neighbours with beginner level flute performances and most of all, loves spending time with her young family.
